Tom Roberts, Author
Tom Roberts began his career as a professional actor, storyteller, and author in South Dakota in 1983. As a performing arts instructor he has worked with tens of thousands of youth and adults across the state. In 1999 he was the first recipient of the Sioux Falls Mayor’s Outstanding Artist Award. Later that same year, his life and work as an actor was featured in a book published by the Lessons In Leadership foundation entitled Turning Dreams Into Success.  In 2002, Tom and his wife published his story, ‘Twas The Night Before Christ, as a fundraiser for Children’s Home Society. In 2008/2009 Sanford Health published a series of his pieces based on his interviews and observations with cancer patients and their families for a project entitled “The Journey of Healing Through The Arts.”  Tom and his wife, Tammy, live in Sioux Falls.


Doug Moss, Illustrator
Doug Moss received his degree in fine arts from Miami University of Ohio with concentrations in graphic design and illustration. He has spent his career in the world of commercial art, working as a designer and an art director at several advertising agencies. In 2003 Doug opened his own marketing/design firm with his partner Candy Van Dam. Insight Marketing Design has had a positive impact on the community by strongly supporting education and the arts. After winning many national awards for his commercial art and illustrations, Doug was honored to have two illustrations selected for exhibition in the Society of Illustrators gallery in New York City. Because of his experience as a previously published children’s book illustrator, Children’s Home Society approached Doug in 2009 to assist with this project for the Little Red Stocking.
